Purewhyte was launched in autumn 2008 by Kirsty
Whyte.
Having studied Decorative Arts at Nottingham Trent University, and
subsequently graduating with First Class honours in 2003. She was
then invited for a semester as a guest student at Kalmar
University, Sweden; studying Glass Design. After moving to London
she then worked for several years at the well-known homeware and
furniture retailer Habitat, where she gained valuable experience in
many areas of retail and design. Now applying this knowledge for
herself with Purewhyte.
Since being awarded Best Newcomer to Launchpad 2009 at Pulse,
Purewhyte has continued its success; becoming the UK winner for the
Swiss Design Days Geneva design competition, Winner of Hidden Art
Award- Most Active Hidden Art Member, Nominated for Hidden Art
Award - Best Furniture, Lighting or Interior
Product,Short-listed for Homes and Gardens, Young Designer
Category.
The varied Purewhyte 2009-2010 Collection, illustrates a breadth of
products from furniture, lighting and homeware. The collection
continues to develop and expand, with three new products due to be
launched during the Mail Furniture Fair 2010
Purewhyte's customers range from individual buyers, to architects
to designer-furniture retailers.
